Apart from being a journalist, he is also an in-demand public speaker, lecturing all over the world about various pop culture-related subjects. These include, but are not limited to, the history of comic books, comedy history, film history, the history of television, and the history of science fiction. He has lectured and performed stand-up comedy at resorts, synagogues, comedy clubs, and academic institutions worldwide, including the Nevele Grand Resort in the Catskills, Stand-Up New York in Manhattan, the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, the Koffler Centre of the Arts in Toronto, the Kislak Vacation Center in the Poconos, the Jewish Culture Festival in Kraków, Poland, and the Jewish Cultural Festival in Trondheim, Norway.

Manche Klischees stimmen halt: Larsson ist ein so geläufiger Name in Schweden, daß er in einem Thread landen muß. Nein, damit meine ich nicht den Millenium-Larsson, sondern einen mit einer eindrucksvollen Bibliographie (23 Bücher).

Mats Larsson, schwedischer Autor und Übersetzer, schrieb für Semic die Serie Tumac, hauptsächlich gezeichnet von Jesús Blasco.

Miloš Nesvadba

Miloš Nesvadba ist ein vielseitiger Künstler. Am bekanntesten ist er wahrscheinlich für seine Kinderbuchillustrationen. Er ist ein langjähriges Mitglied des Nationaltheaters, spielte in einer Reihe von Filmen und Fernsehsendungen mit. Seine Zeichnungen erschienen und erscheinen fast in allen Zeitschriften und Zeitungen, welche je in unserer Republik veröffentlicht wurden.

Fred Muggs, Boris Vallejo, Sir John Tenniel, Jean Shepherd, Winona Ryder, Jimmy Kimmel, Jason Alexander, Walt Kelly, Rep. Barney Frank, Tom Wolfe, Steve Allen, Jim Lee, Jules Feiffer, Donald Knuth and Richard Nixon, who remains the only President credited with "writing" a Mad article.[51]
Contributing just twice are such luminaries as Tom Lehrer, Gustave Doré, Danny Kaye, Stan Freberg, Mort Walker and Leonardo da Vinci. (Leonardo's check is still waiting in the Mad offices for him to pick it up.) Frank Frazetta (3 bylines), Ernie Kovacs (11), Bob and Ray (12), and Sid Caesar (4) appeared slightly more frequently. In its earliest years, before amassing its own staff of regulars, the magazine frequently used outside "name" talent. Often, Mad would simply illustrate the celebrities' preexisting material.

Lynd Ward (1905-1985), Künstler und Geschichtenerzähler. Seine sechs wortlosen Romane (wordless novels), kürzlich wiederentdeckt und teilweise neu aufgelegt, entstanden in einer kurzen Phase.

Novels in woodcuts
Ward is known for his wordless novels told entirely through dramatic wood engravings. Ward's first work, Gods' Man (1929), uses a blend of Art Deco and Expressionist styles to tell the story of an artist's struggle with his craft, his seduction and subsequent abuse by money and power, and his escape to innocence. Ward, in employing the concept of the wordless pictorial narrative, acknowledged as his predecessors the European artists Frans Masereel and Otto Nückel. Released the week of the 1929 stock market crash, Gods' Man would continue to exert influence well beyond the Depression era, becoming an important source of inspiration for Beat Generation poet Allen Ginsberg.[14]

Ward produced six wood engraving novels over the next eight years, including:

Ward left one more wordless novel partially completed at the time of his death in 1985. The 26 completed wood engravings (out of a planned total of 44) were published in a limited edition in 2001, under the title Lynd Ward's Last, Unfinished, Wordless Novel.[15]

He also produced a wordless story for children, The Silver Pony, which is told entirely in black, white and shades of gray painted illustrations; it was published in 1973.

Deepak Chopra, in Indien bekannt als Arzt, Anwalt und Redner, der alternative Medizin propagiert, sowie als Autor. Schuf die Serie Devi für Virgin Comics - frei nach dem indischen Durga-Mythos.
Sein Sohn Gotham Chopra ist ein amerikanisch-indischer Autor. Von ihm stammt die Serie The Sadhu (5 Hefte, Paperback: When Realities Collide, 196 pages, July 2007)

Edward Burns, Schauspieler, Produzent, Drehbuchautor und Regisseur. Bekannt durch Saving Private Ryan. Schrieb für Jimmy Palmiotti Ed Burns' Dock Walloper (Virgin Comics 2008)

Von dem Regisseur Jonathan Mostow (Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, U-571) stammt das Konzept für die Virgin-Comicserie The Megas.

Virgins Mini-Serie Shadow Hunter wurde gemeinsam entwickelt von der Witchblade-Szenaristin Christina Z. und Jenna Jameson, ehemaliger Pornostar, Unternehmerin und Entertainerin, der der Wechsel in die Mainstream-Unterhaltung (Film und Fernsehen) gelungen ist.
