Das Gedicht "Zukala's hour" ist nur eine Inspiration für die Story, die Handlung ist vollständig von Roy Thomas. Teile des Gedichts sind im Comic verwendet worden. Hier das Gedicht (von
dieser Quelle); fettgedruckt sind die Teile, die im Comic ziemlich wörtlich stehen (ein paar andere Formulierungen wurden abgewandelt auch verwendet):

Den Elefantenturm aus Conan #4 fand ich interessant zu lesen, die vorliegende Story aus Conan #5 finde ich allerdings schwach. Die Zeichnungen finde ich schlechter (muss wohl am Inker liegen), und dann dieser alte Schamane Zukala, der seine Tochter nicht loslassen kann. Ist das nicht etwas viel Aufwand (Tochter in Tiger verwandeln, einen Dämon von weit her beschwören), um 40 Goldstücke Steuern einzutreiben (am Ende sind es übrigens 50, wahrscheinlich einschließlich Versäumniszuschlag, gibt's ja heute immer noch)? Goldstücke, mit denen Zukala überhaupt nichts anfangen kann? Nur damit man am Ende in die Story ein paar Seiten Klopperei einstreuen kann. Bisher für mich die schwächste Ausgabe.
