Kid Koala, bürgerlich Eric San (Jahrgang 1975 in Montréal) war ursprünglich Grundschullehrer. Der kanadische
DJ steht beim britischen Label Ninja Tune unter Vertrag und ist an zahlreichen Bands beteiligt: So tourt er mit Bullfrog und läßt seine Turntables für Deltron 3030 und Lovage kreisen. Die Verbindung zum Comic ergibt sich Damon Albarns (Blur) und Jamie Hewletts (
Tank Girl) gemeinsame Band Gorillaz.

In June 2014, the Kid Koala's Nufonia Must Fall Live made its world premiere at Toronto's Luminato Festival. Directed by K.K. Barrett, recently Oscar-nominated for Her, this live adaptation of the graphic novel unfolds via a real-time filming of more than a dozen miniature stages and a cast of puppets.
