Tom King (Jahrgang unbekannt) ist mittlerweile ein berühmter
Szenarist von preisgekrönten Comicserien für DC Comics (vor allem für die Serie
Batman). Seine wichtigsten Werke sind
The Vision (mit den Zeichnern Gabriel Hernández Walta and Michael Walsh für Marvel) und
The Sheriff of Babylon (mit dem Zeichner Mitch Gerards für DC Vertigo).
Anfangs schrieb er nur nebenberuflich Comics, indem er Chris Claremont bei den
X-Men assistierte.
Nach den Anschlägen des 11. September 2001 war King Angestellter des US-Geheimdienstes CIA. Sieben Jahre leitete er als Geheimdienstoffizier eine Anti-Terror-Einheit, die er verließ, als das erste seiner drei Kinder geboren wurde.

It can be difficult to find reference photos, and Tom King can’t share photos of his time there due to CIA restrictions, but Gerards has become quite adept at using Google to research. He then revealed that this is the only comic that has to be cleared by the CIA.
Jamie Rich verified that as a former CIA operative, anything Tom King writes that involves the CIA needs to be vetted by the organization, not for accuracy but just to make sure that they don’t say anything they shouldn’t.
