Diese absurde Einteilung ist doch in den Medien international üblich: Einerseits damit sich ja niemand auf den Schlips getreten fühlt, weil seine Kategorie nicht erwähnt wurde, und andererseits um die Preiszeremonie zu einer stundenlangen Gala auswalzen zu dürfen. Vorbild für all diese Rituale dürften die Oscars der Filmindustrie sein, die den Standard vorgegeben haben, an dem sich ja alle zu orientieren haben.
Erlangen scheint sich an das Modell Angoulême zu halten, auch was den Geschmack der Jury betrifft. |

Prix Asie-ACBD 2010
Die Vereinigung der frankobelgischen Comicjournalisten und -wissenschaftler (ACBD) hat die Nominierungen für den besten asiatischen Comic (Manga, Manhua, Manhwa und ähnliche Varianten) des Jahrgangs 2010 vorgestellt. Der Preis selbst wird auf der 11. Japan Expo Anfang Juli in Paris überreicht.

Die niederländische Stiftung vergibt im wechselnden Rhythmus drei Staatspreise in verschiedenen Kategorien, darunter seit 2007 den Max Velthuijs-prijs. Den mit der stolzen Summe von 60.000 € dotierten wird am 23. September 2010 im Letterkundig Museum in Den Haag der Comicautor Thé Tjong-Khing (geboren 1933 in Vietnam) erhalten. Durch den 3-Jahres-Rhythmus ist er allerdings erst der zweite Preisträger.

Inzwischen zum 4. mal wird dieses Jahr der japanische "Manga Taishō Award" (Cartoon Grand Prize) vergeben.

Das Nominierungskomitee besteht dabei hauptsächlich aus Mitarbeitern aus dem Buchhandel. Um möglichst neue, noch unbekannte Werke zu fördern gelten bei dieser Ausszeichnung, dass nur Manga Serien daran teilnehmen können, die mindestens einen Band im vergangen Jahr herausbrachten und noch nicht das Volumen von 8 Taschenbüchern überschritten. Die L'association Hippocampe kümmert sich um Kinder und Jugendliche mit Handicaps. Bei dem Wettbewerb geht es um Comichelden in ähnlichen Situationen und mit vergleichbaren Lebensentwürfen.

Verliehen wurde der Preis vom japanischen Außenminister, Seiji Maehara. Die Jury bestand aus den drei berühmten Mangaka Machiko Satonaka (Constellation of the Hunter, Lady Ann), Monkey Punch (Lupin III) und Takao Yaguchi (Paul le pêcheur) sowie den zwei Verlegern Yoriaki Yakubo und Hiroyuki Yoshitome. 189 Werke aus 39 Ländern wurden eingericht. Verliehen wurden die Preise im Likura Giesthouse in Tokyo. Die Gewinner der 1. und 2. Preise werden zwei Wochen nach Japan eingeladen, um sich Verlegern und auch mit Naoki Urasawa (Pluto, Monster) zu treffen

Am 6. Februar 2012 wird France 3 eine Preisgala aus dem Lido übertragen, dort werden in 12 Kategorien die Globes de cristal art et culture verliehen: Und eine von diesen Kategorien geht an den besten Comic.

Der Stripschapprijs 2012 wird am 10. März auf dem Comicfestival De Stripdagen in Gorinchem von der Zeitschrift Het Stripschap verliehen. Parallel dazu wird eine Ausstellung über sein Werk veranstaltet.
